LAST CLASS Before Summer from Professor Earthworm

 Hello Students!

It’s that time of year when School vacation is upon us. Some of you are already on vacation while others are just finishing up the last classes! I hope you had a good school year!

This will be my last map drawing class of the 2010-2011 session. I am excited to be taking some time off, maybe visiting some friends and relatives. Will you be doing that too?

One of my favorite places to visit in the summer is Cape Cod.  It is also a fun map to draw because of its unique shape. It looks very much like an arm, making a muscle!

I used our MASSACHUSETTS map to as a guide to help me sketch the shape of Cape Cod, including the nearby islands, which are the Elizabeth Islands, Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket.

I labeled the water bodies around the cape, which include the ATLANTIC OCEAN, Cape Cod Bay, Nantucket Sound, and the Cape Cod Canal.

Be sure to decorate your maps with the colors of your choice, designing a border and a summer-related Compass Rose!

Maybe I’ll see you this summer on Cape Cod having a bowl of clam chowder! Have a great summer and I’ll see you here in the fall with some new maps to draw freehand!

By the way -- here are some words to define:
BAY
CAPE
ISLANDS
SOUND
CANAL
